Are you referring to the Equestrian Skills system introduced in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? Those who undoubtedly did not flounder in their attempts to cheekily navigate through narrow openings by getting caught on a pole, tree, or low fence. After scrutinizing the text, here is the revised version:
CD Projekt has successfully minimized the various boat racing options in the game’s latest iteration, but a modder has now managed to breathe new life into those identical tracks from the original launch.
How? By leveraging the newly released REDkit modding tool, which offers unparalleled access to the same resources employed by the original game developers, creators can now unlock new possibilities for enhancing and customizing their gaming experience.
Modder MerseyRockoff has resurrected the boat races originally conceptualized and labored on by CD Projekt during The Witcher 3’s development, but unlike the well-known horse races and bare-knuckle brawls, they were deliberately omitted from the final release.
“With the release of REDkit, a comprehensive understanding of the entire boat racing script was gained from within the sport’s data, thereby enabling the restoration process to commence,” the modder clarifies. While solely textual content and audio info have been found, the remainder was crafted from scratch, informed by CDPR’s writing style and meticulous analysis of available data. All content within this mod, comprising conversations, characters, notices, and journal entries, was originally penned by CD Projekt Red. I, however, breathed new life into these elements using the REDkit tool.

The video showcases four distinct racing events: two taking place on waterways surrounding Novigrad and Oxenfurt, while the other two challenge Gerry in the turbulent waters off Kaer Trolde’s coast and across Faroe Island’s southern shores. Quests are deliberately triggered by advertisements on nearby discovery boards, adhering to a familiar pattern that has become second nature. Alternatively, consider cutting out intermediaries and addressing whoever is overseeing or working on the race directly.
While the races initially resemble those found in vanilla sports games, MerseyRockoff is poised to revolutionize the experience by introducing randomized routes and allowing players to retry them once they’ve achieved their initial goal, potentially transforming this one-time thrill into a sustainable and engaging feature for White Wolf’s portfolio.
The sole outstanding factor that has been genuinely impressive about REDkit thus far is its removal, which has allowed one of the sport’s authentic builders to utilize it for providing an alternative version of one of the Blood and Wine expansion’s most compelling quests; concurrently, a modder has successfully ported a basic rendition of the original Witcher’s Vizima into 3.
