Skydance Interactive premiered standalone gameplay footage of its behemoth-sized VR game, Behemoth, exclusively for Meta Quest 3.
Whereas we’ve previously delved into both the PlayStation VR2 and PC VR versions of Skydance’s Behemoth, we’re now eager to see how this upcoming VR fantasy action RPG will fare on standalone hardware.
While the recently unveiled Metro Awakening gameplay footage on Quest 3 doesn’t require the same level of immersion as actual gameplay, Skydance Games offers a tantalizing glimpse into the immersive experience that awaits with its showcase of combat, exploration, and encounters with two primary bosses within the Quest 3 home environment?
The video is presented in 720p resolution with a relatively low bitrate; please bear this in mind while viewing. We’ve initiated contact with Skydance to procure a higher-quality model, pending successful delivery of which we’ll be able to substitute the existing text.
The latest gameplay trailer adheres to updated intel confirming the postponement of Behemoth’s release. Having initially targeted a 2023 debut, Skydance Games subsequently shifted its focus to November before announcing last month that it would miss that window to “refine the experience further.” The studio now aims for a December release.
We’ve consistently been impressed by Skydance’s Behemoth, praising its unique presentation and intense physics-based combat since our initial preview. Our Gamescom demo experience, where we battled the third boss, reinforced this enthusiasm, as we found the game continues to excel with thrilling fight mechanics and innovative VR-first design.
Behemoth, the latest title from Skydance Interactive, is set to land on Quest, PSVR 2, and Steam on December 5.
