New Regency’s project, initially announced in March, continues to advance steadily, with the latest development marking another significant milestone in its production journey.
Ubisoft has announced on Twitter that filming for its upcoming movie has commenced, marking a significant milestone in the project’s development. The film, as previously confirmed, is slated to be helmed by French director Mathieu Turi, who is also poised to direct an adaptation of the 2019 video game developed by Asobo Studio.
The film boasts a distinctive screenplay penned by Christie LeBlanc, whose credits include notable works in the industry. The project will feature Sophie Wilde and Tom Blyth in starring roles.
As the franchise’s future remains uncertain, recent reviews have painted a bleak picture, labeling the series as “moribund” and stating that there are currently no plans for a fresh installment from Ubisoft, following the disappointing reception and commercial failure of 2020’s offering.
