Saber Interactive has revealed further details on its cross-platform play capabilities, in addition to providing insights into the various graphic modes available on consoles. Confirmed by Bethesda’s CEO Tim Willits at Gamescom, the highly anticipated title will boast seamless crossplay capabilities, allowing players to team up with friends across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms – including Steam and the Epic Games Store – from day one.
While circumstances may arise, While Marketing campaigns and operations remain unrestricted, the Everlasting Battle matchmaking pools are segregated by platform – PC and console – for purposes of equity and balancing. To play exclusively with those on the same platform, cross-play can be disabled. There’s currently no assistance available for playing over a local area network (LAN).
The developer clarified that both Operations and Everlasting Battle classes have specific restrictions in place. The original system allows for a single House Marine representative from each class, whereas the revised version enables two players to join from each class and crew. While lacking a traditional fireplace setting, the game still offers creative opportunities for mischief, such as herding a Tyranid swarm towards unsuspecting teammates.
