Blizzard Entertainment is seeking to rectify one of its most significant mistakes. On Wednesday, during Blizzard’s Warcraft Thirty-First Anniversary Direct, the company unveiled a 2.0 update for its 2020 remastered real-time strategy game, along with an expansion.
When something is damaged, it’s only logical that we would strive to fix it. When an error occurs, you correct it. According to Brad Chan, senior supervisor of Blizzard’s Warcraft RTS team, he explained that if current issues aren’t satisfactory, they will be elevated, as seen in a recent video discussing updates to classic Warcraft real-time strategy games. According to Chan, the 2.0 update significantly overhauls the sport’s environments and lighting, while also revamping the user interface and upscaling all traditional assets to high-definition quality. The 2.0 update also brings new quality-of-life enhancements, such as customizable in-game hotkeys, a reinvigorated ladder system, and “far more,” according to Chan’s statement.
Here is the rewritten text:
Blizzard’s “remastered” updates for its iconic titles will feature striking new visuals, meticulously hand-drawn to evoke the original artwork styles of each game. Players can seamlessly toggle between the classic graphics and remastered versions in real-time. Meanwhile, the original will receive refined controls, including right-click navigation, contextual bandbox selection, and a faster gameplay tempo. Each video game has been updated with cutting-edge UI and UX enhancements.
The remastered versions of WoW’s classic expansions, including The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, are now available to purchase separately or as part of a new Warcraft Battle Chest package, which can be accessed through Battle.net for a one-time fee of $39.99.
