The highly anticipated patch for Final Fantasy VII Remake has been released, promising to hasten your journey through Midgar as the wait for the PC version’s release continues.
At this year’s Game Awards, we were stunned to learn that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PC, with a release date just around the corner. As anticipation builds ahead of its debut, many players will likely want to either experience Remake for the first time or revisit it before diving into the new installment. While Remake can be a substantial RPG requiring at least 30 hours of playtime, it’s unclear whether that duration is justified during the vacation season, when time may be better spent on other pursuits. Fortunate for you, Sq. Square Enix has announced the latest update for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, now standing at version 1.004, bringing several useful improvements to enhance your gaming experience and expedite progress through the title.
Initially, when commencing a fresh adventure, there’s an innovative “Head Start” feature: “Upon selecting ‘New Game’ from the title screen, players are now offered the option to launch the game with their character level and inventory already boosted,” according to a Steam post. At the outset, every character will start at level 45, accompanied by the full array of ability factors typically earned up to that stage. Upon completing the central storyline, you will also be rewarded with numerous max-stage materia for each character, as well as access to discoverable gear and equipment throughout the narrative, accompanied by a substantial sum of 50,000 gil. Fairly nifty! The story conclusions for each character also apply to Yuffie’s Intermission episode, which means that the narrative arcs of both Chocobo’s Mystery Dip and Shindig will be fully resolved in the same way as those of other characters.
Although there is an unexpected twist, one feature stands out as particularly useful for speeding through the game while still experiencing all the cutscenes: a straightforward fast-forward option that allows you to bypass lengthy cinematic sequences. The patch notes offer a welcome solution: setting all cutscenes to 1.5 or 2 times velocity. With numerous lengthy cutscenes, those seeking to minimize downtime between gameplay sessions will appreciate this option, although they may still find themselves watching more than they’d like – a compromise for the sake of enjoying their preferred game.
The upcoming game will be available for purchase on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
