GrimLord, a Souls-like inspired virtual reality motion role-playing game, officially launches today for both Oculus Quest and Steam platforms.
Debuting as a Steam Early Access title from MetalCat Studio, Grimlord made its mark in the gaming sphere last year before transitioning to App Lab in January. Trapped behind the imposing walls of the Lonely Mountains, the marketing campaign thrusts you into a perilous quest to overthrow the ruthless Grim Lord, navigating treacherous landscapes and battling formidable foes in physics-defying combat, while uncovering coveted treasures along the way. The highly anticipated full reveal is finally out.
Grimlord is unveiling the final chapter of his epic tale, comprising four comprehensive installments that will bring the story to a thrilling conclusion. Discover a vast array of new weaponry and cosmetic attire, while the comprehensive weapon-smithing system now boasts an impressive 160+ unique components to master. The game features a comprehensive development system, boasting over 130 distinct expertise nodes to choose from. The latest release brings forth fresh challenges with the introduction of novel adversaries and additional high-stakes boss battles to test your mettle.
As part of their post-launch strategy, MetalCat Studio outlines a comprehensive roadmap for the remainder of 2025, which includes a series of free downloadable content (DLC) releases. According to the studio’s press release, Grimlord can be expected to roll out Area Mode, Character Customization, Mod Instruments, complimentary Chapter content, and a Multiplayer Mode within the next 12-month period.
Grimlord is now available to purchase on SteamVR and the Meta Quest platform for a price of $29.99. The development team has confirmed that ports for various virtual reality (VR) platforms will soon be available, with no specific names mentioned; however, previous discussions hinted at support for Pico and PlayStation VR2.
