Iron Riot, a virtual reality-based mech simulation game paying homage to Titanfall and Hawken, has received its last major update prior to its official release.
Launched three years ago, Iron Riot is poised to complete its eight-year development cycle and take a significant leap forward. Black Shores Studio, the developer behind this crucial milestone, is shaking things up with the release of Mech Talents in Model 0.939 – a major update that brings six brand-new, fully customizable lessons to the table, including three never-before-seen models. Check out the upcoming gameplay trailer below.
The Recon mech is designed specifically for rapid reconnaissance missions, equipping itself with advanced movement sensors to gather critical intel swiftly and efficiently. The infiltrator is designed for covert operations, equipped with advanced cloaking technology that enables it to disappear from sight. The Breaker is a versatile medium mech engineered to provide tactical flexibility, allowing pilots to temporarily boost their abilities and initiate swift aerial support with precision-guided strikes. The E-Pulse mech comes equipped with a powerful EMP detonator that momentarily stuns enemies and disintegrates their defensive shields. Reinforcer is a heavy-assist unit that furnishes and functions as a cell-level redeployment device. The Guardian can employ a robust, one-way Vitality Protect for tactical defensive purposes.
Acquiring specific skills demands gathering a unique resource called ‘Mass,’ with each method carrying its own cost. Newly implemented modulations enhance performance through refined calibration settings, while optimized balance adjustments have been made to the mech armor system’s mechanics. Black Seashore Studio announces that model 1.0 has been focused on “clear up and polish,” with all relevant details documented in the latest progress log.
Iron Riot is currently available in early access on both the Meta Quest platform and Steam, with a full launch planned for autumn 2024. A flat-screen PC mode may well become available shortly after the overall launch.
