Less than a year after its comprehensive debut, the VR multiplayer shooter VAIL is set to introduce a free-to-play social hub next week for both Oculus Quest and Steam platforms.
Initially launched 12 months ago in early access by developer AEXLAB, VAIL VR is introducing “The Citadel” interactive lobby on November 7, featuring a “1v1 Face Off environment,” numerous mini-golf courses, an obstacle course/fight playground, a shooting range, and more. Further content updates and expansion packs, such as a new wave shooter experience, are planned before the end of 2024.
With VAIL’s existing content, comprising matchmaking, customizable games, 13 maps, 11 game modes, and progression-based unlock systems, set to be rebranded as the optional “VAIL Fight” DLC at a price point of $30, which currently matches the game’s standard cost. Existing VAIL house owners will automatically receive VAIL Fight and maintain all existing advancements, unlocks, and cosmetic elements.
Within the scope of their recent announcement, AEXLAB has simultaneously unveiled its current post-launch roadmap. The game will introduce a standalone extraction mode for the popular VAIL Fight franchise in 2025, alongside marketing campaigns and innovative battle royale modes, further empowering users to create their own unique gaming experiences through robust user-generated content capabilities.
