Trombone Champ: Unflattened brings the addictive, virtual sensation of the viral hit to Quest, Steam, and PSVR 2 this autumn.
First introduced in 2022, Trombone Champ, developed by Holy Wow Studios, is a side-splitting rhythm comedy game where players unravel the enigmas of the Trombiverse through an engaging single-player story mode. As one of the initial officially released VR variations, developed in collaboration with Flat2VR Studios, this offering features over 50 diverse tracks, encompassing everything from iconic anthems to timeless classical pieces, electronic masterpieces, and beyond.
Songs are performed throughout a variety of unique, immersive 3D environments, each featuring vibrant, animated backgrounds that transport players to new worlds. As players advance, the Trombone Playing Cards collection grows, and unlike its predecessor, Trombone Champ: Unflattened starts with a base of 10 trombones, offering an additional 40 to be unlocked. Blended reality can seamlessly integrate virtual and physical elements, effectively merging the game with your surroundings.
We’re witnessing Trombone Champ’s VR debut for the second time, albeit unofficially this go-around. After weeks of anticipation following the launch of the flatscreen recreation, a new mod emerged courtesy of experienced modder Raicuparta, whose collaboration with Flat2VR Studios was officially announced in March.
Trombone Champ is set to launch this autumn on the Meta Quest platform, Steam, and PlayStation VR2.
