The introduction of Noctis in Tekken 7 sparked mixed reactions, with some questioning the logic behind incorporating a sword-wielding character into the game’s intense fistfights. Despite this controversy, Noctis proved to be a solid addition, offering a unique set of skills and fighting style that enhanced the game’s overall diversity. The criticism is indeed rendered obsolete now that Tekken 8 has been released, incorporating Victor with an unconventional yet intriguing weapon – a firearm, to be exact.

Bandai Namco has faced criticism once again regarding its Tekken 8 DLC strategy, a pattern that’s become all too familiar. In October, following Heihachi’s departure, the developer was forced to reconsider its strategy to market the veteran fighter’s stage outside of the seasonal update, amidst a backlash from fans that resulted in a decline of the game’s Steam review rating.
