PDP has unveiled six sleek new Victrix Professional FS Arcade gaming controllers, but be prepared to pay a premium for the privilege of ownership. The exceptional quality of these battle sticks lies in their meticulous construction, with each limited edition design uniquely numbered from one to three hundred.
Many high-quality battle sticks come with a hefty price tag, as they’re bespoke items engineered specifically for a single purpose: combat. At a staggering $499.99, the asking price may prove difficult for even the most ardent Tekken 8 enthusiasts to digest.
The new battle sticks feature an intricate etching of one of six iconic characters: Jin, Kazuya, King, Law, Lili, or Xiaoyu. Each mannequin can be serial-numbered up to 300, revealing the extraordinary scarcity of these limited-edition items, with a total production run of only 1,800 units.
Despite their limited capabilities, these battle sticks still offer the flexibility to tailor button and joystick settings through the incorporation of a rapid-access control panel. The boards come equipped with two removable joysticks featuring Sanwa’s JLF base, as well as 30mm buttons from renowned manufacturer Sanwa Denshi. It’s not just useful for personalization, but also ideal for seamless integration within specific contexts, particularly when addressing technical topics.
As a result of securing the Tekken 8 license, PDP is capitalizing on the opportunity by offering a branded version of its Victrix Professional BFG wireless controller and a Tekken 8-themed event backpack, both of which are likely to resonate with fans of the popular fighting game series.
Although PDP is still somewhat enigmatic in the realm of gaming peripherals, the company’s acquisition by Turtle Beach earlier this year has quietly bolstered its reputation, thanks in part to the release of the PDP Riffmaster, a controller compatible with Fortnite Championship.
