The long-awaited successor to Cyberpunk 2077 is taking shape at CD Projekt RED, with its exact name yet to be officially announced. With pre-production well underway over the past year, the goal remains to initiate mass production by 2024, and current momentum suggests this target timeline remains achievable.
According to CD Projekt’s Chief Financial Officer Piotr Nielubowicz, during the company’s latest quarterly financial briefing, he revealed that the next game, featuring a team of over 400 personnel currently working on the project, will soon transition out of pre-production and into full-scale production.
“The team worked tirelessly on the next installment in the series, achieving significant milestones that will enable us to rapidly transition into full-scale production and bring this project to fruition.”
Nielubowicz also discussed the upcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, currently under development at CD Projekt’s Boston studio and still in its early stages of improvement.
The preceding six months had proven to be an incredibly busy period for our Boston-based studio.
