WIT Studio takes on another captivating challenge, this time adapting the popular series into an all-new anime.
While it may be a relatively modern studio compared to other well-established names in the industry, WIT Studio has nonetheless established itself through notable projects such as Spy x Family and Suicide Squad: Isekai, in addition to its impressive work on opening and 2D cutscenes for Persona 3 Reload. Here is the rewritten text:
Yaiba Kurogane, the eponymous protagonist of this collection, is a youthful samurai drawing inspiration from the legendary Miyamoto Musashi, whose exploits in real-life Japanese history have captivated audiences for centuries. If you catch the trailer’s glimpse, you might think, “Wait, isn’t that model familiar?” – and it’s likely because the manga the anime is based on is penned by Gosho Aoyama, renowned for his long-running Case Closed series (also commonly referred to as Detective Conan).

At just 30 seconds long, the primary trailer makes a surprisingly strong impression, packing a punch of fun and energy into its concise runtime. Takahiro Hasui, who has previously helmed episodes for Mob Psycho 100 and Bungo Stray Dogs, takes the reins on this project, joined by long-time collaborator Yoshimichi Kameda, whose expertise in character design and animation direction will be crucial to bringing the story’s characters to life.
This is not the first instance where the manga has been adapted into an anime series. In 1993, the series was revived, running for a total of 52 episodes, with renowned Pokémon film director Kunihiro Yuyama at the helm for nearly every installment. The iconic voice of Conan Edogawa, famously lent by Minami Takayuki, reprises its role as protagonist Yaiba, echoing its previous appearance in the distinct compilation. The anime adaptation of Oshi no Ko has announced its voice cast: Manaka Iwami is set to bring Sayaka Mine to life, while Yoshimasa Hosoya will lend his voice to Takeshi Onimaru in this upcoming series.
Since there’s no official launch date announced for the new Yaiba model, keep a keen eye out for updates as they become available.
WIT Studio is simultaneously working on two prominent projects: another anime remake and the highly anticipated adaptation of the iconic manga series One Piece.
