As the upcoming growth approaches quickly, despite not being able to start until August, a new pre-patch is poised to go live on July 23. Although the pre-patch lacks substantial narrative content or new zones, it does feature two significant updates: the introduction of Warbands and the thrill of Skyriding. These transformative changes, accompanied by a multitude of smaller tweaks, stability updates, and a fresh event, are poised to significantly impact the MMO as we navigate our way through the transition from the past to the future.
The patch’s most striking alteration is instantly apparent when players log in for the first time: a revamped character selection screen. As players engage with Warbands, they’ll enjoy seamless, cross-platform growth, effortlessly sharing their hard-earned renown, accumulated wealth, celebrated achievements, curated collections, and other rewards. As you log in to the pre-patch update, you’ll find four of your characters gathered around a warm and inviting campfire. While there may be opportunities for additional scenes in the future, I’m content with my multitude of alternate characters simply socializing and having fun, rather than collecting dust and remaining unplayed on a shelf.
Among the most celebrated features was Dragonriding, a newly introduced flight system that significantly outperforms its predecessor’s simplistic, linear approach to flying. The system is receiving an update with a brand-new designation: SkyRiding. Will skyriding become a universal feature for all flight mounts, allowing them to perform identical aerial stunts inspired by the majestic dragons of the Dragon Isles? Regardless of your preference for a distinct style, commonly referred to as Regular Flight, you have the flexibility to seamlessly switch between the two options.
Prior to the main patch release, there’s an exclusive opportunity to shape the narrative of. Between July 30 and August 26, players who have successfully completed the questline will gain access to a new storyline dubbed “Visions of Azeroth.” This narrative thread will unfold as gamers confront the memories of Azeroth in four distinct zones: Dalaran, Dragonblight, Dustwallow Marsh, and Searing Gorge. By acquiring the Residual Recollections, players can accumulate a valuable new currency, which they can then utilize to acquire novel beauty items for their Warband collections, unlocking fresh possibilities and enhancing their overall gaming experience.
The highly anticipated MMORPG is set to launch on August 26, with pre-order bonuses offering eager players early access starting August 22 for those who’ve secured the Epic Version of their character’s growth.
