As announced by Capcom, the upcoming conclusion to the Monster Hunter: World saga is now confirmed for PC and console release prior to its major launch in late February. Despite initial reservations, the open beta will indeed go ahead as planned.
Earlier in the final year, hints emerged that this opportunity was on the horizon. Just recently, an official announcement confirmed our expectations and outlined the timeline for its realization.
Unlike the initial Monster Hunter Rise open beta, which was console-exclusive to Nintendo Switch, this follow-up test won’t have any platform restrictions. The second open beta is scheduled to take place across two weekends, allowing players to access it on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. You won’t need to wish for a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass membership to play either.
The second open beta retains all content from the November update, with Capcom also introducing Gypceros, a beloved monster familiar to long-time fans of the series. Additional unrevealed content will undoubtedly emerge, presenting yet another formidable challenge for the writer to conquer.
The Monster Hunter: World – Iceborne Open Beta 2 Schedule is as follows:
- at . The accessibility of the information will continue until the end of those exact time periods on dot.
- The beta will return for its remaining session on the following weekend. It would wrap up at the exact same points.
For those who didn’t have access to the November open beta, there’s still much to look forward to, including the highly detailed character creator and an early glimpse into the story that sets the stage for your first monster-hunting adventure, Doshaguma. Players who participated in the primary beta will have the opportunity to access their created characters during the upcoming open beta, potentially earlier than expected. So, this additional feature also applies to the overall model, allowing you to fine-tune your Hunter even further.
Capcom is offering a fresh batch of incentives to entice gamers to join and actively participate in the ongoing beta testing phase. Upon defeating the boss, you’ll receive a stunning beauty pendant, accompanied by a premium merchandise pack containing valuable items: raw meat for sustenance, traps to deter predators, barrel bombs for strategic warfare, flash/dung pods to disorient enemies, and a selection of armor spheres to enhance your defenses.
Unfortunately, it appears that none of the previously discussed performance improvements, game mechanics adjustments, or hitstop/animation fix upgrades promised by the Monster Hunter team after gathering beta feedback will be implemented.
Monster Hunter: Wilds is just one of several highly anticipated RPGs making its debut in February. While it’s slated to release later in the month, potentially even later than titles like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Avowed, Starfield’s impact could be unparalleled.
The highly anticipated Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds, is set to launch on February 28 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
