A remake/remaster has been heavily speculated about for months, and it’s now simply a question of when rather than if, given its likely debut during the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct ’25. Despite the effort to maintain secrecy, details about the game have allegedly been shared by a former Virtuos employee who worked on the project between 2023 and 2024.
Without revealing the MP’s title to ensure privacy, MP1st highlighted a previously unseen outline on their website, allegedly verifying that the game has been “completely reworked” using Unreal Engine 5. Adjustments are reportedly made to Sneak, Blocking, Archery, Hit Response, the Heads-Up Display (HUD), and Stamina.
Notable enhancements include drawing inspiration from Souls-like games for blocking mechanics, the introduction of highlighted Sneak icons, and a significant increase in difficulty when Stamina is completely exhausted, leaving players vulnerable to attacks.
Additional features in the latest updates include hit reactions for enhanced combat experiences, archery enhancements to refine players’ marksmanship skills, and an aesthetically pleasing heads-up display (HUD) that further immerses gamers in the action.
As reports of additional Virtuos Shanghai staff involvement in an unspecified Unreal Engine 5 remake emerge, it appears that all necessary components are now in place to officially unveil the project. The highly anticipated release is scheduled to debut in June, following the recent announcement. Stay informed for further details.
