Despite underperforming sales-wise, Ubisoft reveals a plan to revitalize Star Wars Outlaws by targeting new gamers over the next few months. Multiple title updates are in development, alongside the announcement of a release date for Outlaws’ initial DLC pack, which will also debut on Steam.
The information arrived concurrently with the author’s announcement, which pushed back the release of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows from November this year to February, citing “insights gleaned from the Star Wars Outlaws launch” as justification for needing “additional time to hone and fine-tune the experience”.
Ubisoft reveals in its latest financial report that the initial sales figures for Outlaws were softer than expected, despite receiving strong critical acclaim and user ratings.
“In response to participant feedback, Ubisoft has fully activated its improvement groups to rapidly deploy a series of updates that will refine and enrich the player experience, positioning Star Wars: Outlaws to captivate a broad audience during the holiday season and solidify its status as a strong long-term performer.”
The official Star Wars Outlaws account recently tweeted an update from the game’s developers, providing insight into what the next few months have in store.
The publisher set a specific release date for Outlaws’ inaugural story DLC, the Wild Card pack featuring everyone’s beloved former Cloud City dweller, Lando Calrissian, which will be available on November 21st. A simultaneous Steam launch of the sport could be happening on that exact same day. New “contracts” will be introduced, offering a fresh start for all gamers.
