Despite its premium price tag, the PlayStation 5 Pro has garnered moderate success, with numerous games capitalizing on features such as advanced rendering capabilities through PlayStation Super Sampling. The AI-powered upscaler appears to be malfunctioning for certain titles, comparable in nature to the issues experienced by Respawn Entertainment. While playing at Efficiency Mode in its latest video, Digital Foundry noted instances of shimmering, likely attributable to the upscaling effects of PSSR.
On PS5, the results seem to deteriorate further still. While Sony has remained silent on the issue, Digital Arts took to Twitter to acknowledge the problem, stating that it is “proactively investigating” the matter. We’re currently unable to provide an estimated timeframe for the repair, and we’ll continue to offer updates as more information becomes available.
Titles such as Resident Evil Village’s remake, Activision’s Silent Hill, and Layers of Fear shine with remarkable results on the console. The challenge lies specifically in optimizing performance for 60 FPS efficiency modes, capitalizing on the capabilities of the PlayStation’s Super Sampling technology.
We are currently aware of issues related to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on the PlayStation 5 platform, and we are actively working to resolve them.
