Cloud Imperium Games, the developer of highly anticipated sci-fi projects such as Squadron 42 and Star Citizen, has reportedly undergone layoffs within its senior management ranks. According to a recent report by Insider Gaming, high-ranking officials within the studio have been terminated, triggering a significant restructuring of the company’s management framework.
Executives who escaped layoffs have instead been reassigned to entirely new roles within the studio. According to sources, studio head Chris Roberts unveiled a groundbreaking new direction for the company through an internal memo circulated among staff.
According to reports, Robert’s stated that the desire to meet discharge schedules for individual video games was a driving force behind the administrative changes made.
