Despite speculation about potential future projects, the developers behind LA Noire are currently not working on a new game, unfortunately.
Unfortunately, we have no plans for a new recreation from the makers of LA Noire. Australian composer Freyja Garbett recently shared some exciting news on Instagram, revealing that she’s working with the team behind the acclaimed game LA Noire on a fresh project, which has already garnered significant attention. From the acclaimed developers behind LA Noire, comes Sowden Home, a gripping psychological thriller set against the backdrop of 1940s Los Angeles. This thought-provoking game will have you questioning your own sanity as you navigate its eerie and suspenseful world. This entrepreneurial journey has been monumental, yet it’s still slowly unraveling its complexities and revealing hidden truths to me. I never imagined I’d be writing for an online game; yet, I’m thankful for this unexpected opportunity!
Notwithstanding this, Video Games Deluxe, founded by Brendan McNamara, former head of defunct Bondi Studios – the original creators of LA Noire – issued a statement clarifying that there is no game, dispelling rumors sparked by Garbett’s previous post via VGC. According to the statement, the focus is exclusively on projects related to Rockstar. We partnered with local musician Freyja Garbett to create original music for a VR project, one we had been involved with for several years, taking breaks between initiatives.
The investigation into this text yields: The case, rooted in LA Noire, though initially omitted from the game’s final cut, served as a technological showcase rather than a fully fleshed-out narrative component. Although it’s uncertain whether our efforts will ever yield results, we’re committed to finishing the rating process and supporting a local musician.
While a misunderstanding may seem to be the primary issue at hand, the bottom line is that you shouldn’t expect a fresh thriller set in 1940s Los Angeles. Video Games Deluxe has previously discussed working with Rockstar, the original creator of LA Noire, to develop LA Noire: The VR Case Files; however, it remains unclear what the team is specifically undertaking.
