Launched in July 2023, the new platform offers a comprehensive selection of 36 fighters from each firm. SNK’s roster of iconic characters, including the long-standing favorites Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard, is bolstered by the inclusion of Japanese martial arts master Shiki and the enigmatic Mars Folk. Capcom boasts a formidable roster featuring iconic characters like Ryu, the stoic Street Fighter warrior; Chun-Li, the agile and deadly Interpol agent; Demitri Maximoff, the charismatic and cunning Darkstalkers lord; and Zero, the mysterious and formidable X-Men ally. You can instantly switch to playing as secret Arcade characters, including Athena and Crimson Armored Warrior, from the start.
The re-release features numerous quality-of-life improvements and additions, including rollback netcode for seamless online play, a hitbox viewer for precise gameplay analysis, and a comprehensive Gallery Mode showcasing over 80 pieces of artwork. Online lobbies accommodate up to nine players, allowing for flexible game modes, including the option to organize tournaments featuring various formats such as single-elimination and round-robin play.
