Skydance’s Behemoth, a highly anticipated virtual reality game set to launch in 2024, is expected to receive a post-launch “day seven” patch on Meta Quest platforms.
As the launch date for Skydance’s Behemoth approaches on December 5, we’re still waiting to get a first-hand look at the full game following earlier demo experiences. At the specified moment, a Skydance Games consultant informed us that “Behemoth from Skydance is set to launch this Thursday, December. Five days after launch, with day-one patches applied to PlayStation and seven-day fixes rolled out for Meta Quest headsets.
The prolonged wait for Quest gamers compared to PlayStation VR2 owners raises questions about the intended fixes on both platforms. Skydance Games recently experienced a “catastrophic hardware failure” that caused a delay in testing and certification across all platforms, according to the studio’s statement. Despite initial setbacks, the studio has successfully overcome its challenges.
No notable comments were made regarding the PC VR launch, and last month we revealed that Behemoth’s absence from Steam is imminent. Studio’s VR title is coming to PC via Steam and Quest Link this week, with additional PC VR platforms to follow at a later time. Skydance has hinted at a potential release or replacement for its PC VR and Steam offerings within the coming weeks, though further details remain forthcoming.
We’ll keep you updated on all the latest developments surrounding this impending launch as more information becomes available.
