MeganeX has lifted the curtain on preorders for its latest iteration of their flagship headset, the MeganeX, following a series of delays and unmet expectations with its initial releases.
Shiftall was previously a subsidiary of Panasonic, however again in January Panasonic offered Shiftall off to a different Japanese firm, Creek & River Co. Although Shiftall claims to still be working with Panasonic, its relationship is no longer that of a subsidiary.
The sudden downturn occurred just weeks after Shiftall unveiled its long-awaited MeganeX SuperLight headset, following a string of delays surrounding its initial MeganeX model, which was first touted for release in 2022 and later pushed back to 2023.
As astonishing as it may seem, Shiftall is at it again. Here is the rewritten text:
Samsung won’t deliver its previously announced MeganeX superlight, instead opening preorders for a new “MeganeX superlight 8K”.
The MeganeX superlight 8K features dual 3552×3840 micro-OLED displays that support top-tier dynamic range (HDR) functionality within SteamVR, exclusively compatible with NVIDIA RTX graphics cards and the NVIDIA VRWorks software development kit when used in conjunction with these technologies.
Shifting their focus to the visor’s weight, Shiftall asserts that the visor alone, minus the straps, weighs in at under 185 grams, potentially ranking among the lightest headsets currently available. While it lacks passthrough functionality, its innovative flip-up design allows for seamless transition between augmented reality experiences and real-world visibility without removing the device from your eyes.
The MeganeX superlight 8K utilizes SteamVR Monitoring technology, necessitating the presence of base stations; for tracked controllers, users may need to source them from either Valve or HTC.
The headset features motorised lens separation adjustment, accommodating a range of interpupillary distances (IPDs) from 58mm to 72mm, ensuring a comfortable and precise fit for diverse users. You manage the mechanism within a software program on your personal computer, wherein the lenses adjust to the Interpupillary Distance (IPD) you have designated.
While the MeganeX SuperLight 8K’s compact design may not be compatible with glasses, its integrated diopter adjustment dial allows for a range of corrections, spanning from 0D to -7D. Furthermore, Shiftall promises to offer prescription lens inserts in the future.
The Shiftall’s signature strap features a brow pad harmoniously integrated with soft straps, enabling users to comfortably wear the headset while reclining against a chair, sofa, or bed.
Unlike its predecessor, the MeganeX SuperLight 8K lacks a built-in audio system or traditional 3.5mm audio input; instead, it features a single USB-C port designed for connectivity with external audio devices.
Notably, Shiftall asserts that the MeganeX superlight exclusively assists NVIDIA graphics cards, failing to function on AMD graphics cards whatsoever.

For a limited time, you can pre-order the innovative MeganeX SuperLight 8K camera system at an exclusive price of $1,900. Despite Shiftall’s assurances that its product will arrive by March, cautious optimism is warranted considering the company’s track record at this stage, leaving uncertainty around whether the actual shipment will materialize.
