The danger of Rain 2 has recently received its Seeking of the Storm DLC replacement, which is a must-buy right now. Notwithstanding, it may well spark your keen interest to proceed with addressing these issues, as the recent update has unleashed a plethora of significant defects and imperfections into the game. Until recently, the recreation remained in top condition.
Bugs in this game will not be limited to trivial issues such as random deaths, framerate drops, clipping errors, missing textures, teleporter malfunctions, and object highlights being absent. The fact that strike speed is tied to a basic ability, while vagrant sphere attacks remain invulnerable, is a significant problem.
Why has this occurred? The buck appears to stop at Gearbox. Last year, Gearbox acquired the rights to Risk of Rain from Hopoo Games, and now they’ve released the first major update since then, titled Seekers of the Storm DLC, which was fully developed in-house. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software and self-proclaimed magic enthusiast, tweeted recently that “The DLC is fully a Gearbox effort,” leaving little room for doubt about the company’s involvement.
While the game may be acceptable enough for Gearbox, it’s disappointing that one of the original creators of Risk of Rain 2 has expressed frustration with the state of the game on Discord in the wake of this DLC’s release. What’s truly disheartening is that, lacking any proprietary stake in Hopoo Games, the creators didn’t reap a financial reward from the successful sale. Despite the fact that a vast portion of the original code in Danger of Rain 2 remains, it’s currently undergoing refinements and subtle alterations through the introduction of the latest DLC.
Some gamers have attempted to address the problems themselves by developing and applying custom modifications (mods) aimed at rectifying these issues. Despite the best efforts of many fans, the current state of the DLC remains deeply unsatisfactory.
Following its departure from Embracer Group, gearbox carried out a significant layoff of employees, though the specific positions and number affected remain unclear to this day. The recent update had a significant impact on the Seekers of the Storm downloadable content (DLC), introducing new challenges and rewards for players. With this latest endeavour, questions arise once again about Gearbox’s ability to navigate a challenging year, marked by a seemingly relentless pursuit of innovation.
The community is eagerly anticipating a swift release for the forthcoming Seekers of the Storm DLC.
