Insomniac Games has rolled out a patch to prepare the PS5 Pro’s launch on November 7, coinciding alongside its release. The app now offers two additional modes: Efficiency Professional and Consistency Professional. The previous build targeted 60 frames per second, utilizing PlayStation’s Spectacular Tremendous Decision for Consistency mode-quality visuals, while also activating all available ray tracing features.
Constancy Professional is designed to operate at a consistent 30 frames per second, while still allowing users to toggle various ray tracing settings, such as RT Reflections, which enables a reduced-resolution medium setting that optimizes performance with minimal visual compromise. Selecting Excessive settings enables the rendering of scenes in their entirety, thereby amplifying reflective animation sequences.
The game also features RT Ambient Occlusion, which utilizes the Medium setting to amplify screen-space ambient occlusion and incorporate excessive on-screen world illumination bounces with the Excessive setting. Mileage fluctuations occur depending on the scenario, yet it’s often beneficial to shift into a higher gear for optimized performance.
Although Constancy Professional is poised to deliver even more impressive graphics with the Variable Price Refresh feature and its 120Hz Show Mode, it also excels at rendering finer facial features and adding more pedestrians and traffic details in specific areas. There’s great news in store for original PS5 console owners too, as the update also resolves cinematic issues on Corson V, where fur wetness was previously absent.
Available now on both PlayStation 5 and PC. What evaluations are you referring to?
