Quest customers can now seamlessly share their in-game experiences with others by casting them to TVs, mobile devices, or sending them directly to friends and family via Facebook Messenger. According to recent market trends uncovered by the renowned leak expert Luna, it appears that this technology may soon also support integration with popular messaging platform WhatsApp.
A recent update enabled Quest users to broadcast screen shares via Facebook Messenger, enabling seamless sharing of in-game accomplishments during video conferencing sessions with friends and family.
Now, it appears that Assist will be heading to Meta’s massive mobile messaging app, WhatsApp, as well as Meta’s own virtual reality chat platform, Horizon Chat, specifically designed for the Quest.
The new capability is being seamlessly integrated into WhatsApp, allowing for swift sharing of this performance with individuals on Horizon OS, arriving soon. https://t.co/xPybCAnvqm

Meta has discreetly rolled out support for Facebook Messenger casting, enabling users to share their entire headset experience, encompassing video games, apps, and even the Horizon OS user interface, all in real-time.
Integrating WhatsApp casting seems a logical progression, building on the company’s existing smartglasses innovation, which enables POV video sharing on WhatsApp, Messenger, and recently expanded to include support for Instagram and Facebook livestreaming, as seen in its April update.
While there’s no guarantee that Meta will release WhatsApp support on Quest, considering their recent acquisition of the company, last week’s announcements did not include this feature. While we wait for updates on Meta’s WhatsApp support webpage, we’ll keep a close eye on it, and update this information as soon as new options become available.
