The PSVR 2 has achieved its strongest sales performance to date, yet still saw a significant 37% drop in value just two weeks prior to the release of its upcoming PC VR adapter.
The PSVR2 launched in early 2023 at a base price of $550. Currently, the headset’s price has been discounted even further, dropping to an attractive $450 earlier this year, and now we’re seeing an even better offer.

The sale, touted as a “Restricted Time Deal,” leaves uncertainty over its ultimate outcome.
When Sony’s PC VR adapter drops, it will overshadow the headset’s greatest appeal, arriving just two weeks prior to the launch, allowing PSVR 2 to seamlessly play video games from the vast SteamVR library – as long as you’re equipped with a robust gaming PC.
The adapter will launch on August 7th, priced at $60/€60/£50, and will be available through select retailers and directly on ps.com.
After years of skepticism towards requests for a PC VR adapter for its genuine PSVR headset, Sony’s unexpected announcement of plans to release one for PSVR 2 left many stunned. While priced at $350, the PSVR 2 appears to rival high-end PC VR headsets with its exceptional build quality, resolution, self-contained tracking system, and advanced controllers.
While the headset offers versatility across platforms, several limitations arise when using it with a PC compared to its native integration on the PS5. When playing on PC, the Sony adapter will not support HDR, headset haptics, eye-tracking, adaptive triggers, or haptic feedback beyond basic vibration and rumble. The headset will still showcase its original specifications: 2,000 × 2,040 resolution per eye, a 110-degree field of view, finger contact detection, and passthrough view capabilities.
