The wait begins: with a new season just around the corner, we can expect a fix of blood-sucking, shirt-tucking, and all manner of vampiric hijinks in What We Do in the Shadows Season 6.
All things considered, a definitive conclusion is often desirable, even if it’s not always necessary. As it appears the curtain is set to close on the popular What We Do Within the Shadows, a comedy mockumentary series, following its forthcoming sixth and final season later this year. By this time next year, I mean just three months ahead, as FX has finally set the premiere date for this final season on October 21. As the spooky season descends upon us, with Halloween festivities mere steps away, this series makes its grand entrance with a trifecta of thrilling episodes, each one more tantalizing than the last.
After that, the series would maintain a consistent weekly schedule, comprising a total of 11 installments, with each successive episode debuting on Hulu the very next day. We apologize for the delay, but we’re excited to announce that our new series will be available on Disney+ whenever it premieres in various regions worldwide.
In Season 6, Guillermo, played by Harvey Guillén, finds himself re-assessing his existence after a brief yet tumultuous experience as a full-fledged vampire. What’s the identity of this individual if not one already recognized for their efforts, willing to take drastic measures to appease their Master, with the ultimate goal of achieving vampire status at some point in the future. As the humans reassess their stance, so too do the vampires recalibrate their strategy. When their former roommate reemerges after a 50-year hiatus, they’re struck by the paltry accomplishments that have filled those intervening years – no lofty purpose fulfilled, no cherished dream pursued, no significant contribution made to the world (save for a small stretch of his street and part of Ashley Avenue).
Attendees at San Diego Comic-Con may also be interested in listening to a panel discussing the present, featuring stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Mark Proksch, and Kristen Schaal, along with executive producer/author Paul Simms and EP/director Kyle Newacheck – check it out at 3:30-4:30pm PT in Hall H tomorrow, July 25, where a sneak peek of a new episode is being screened too.
