The sentiment surrounding the highly anticipated reboot has undergone a notable shift in recent times, transforming from skepticism to optimism since its gameplay reveal last year. As the project nears launch, it’s been reported that the team now has fresh leadership at the helm.
According to a recent report from Recreation File, the Initiative has appointed Insomniac Games’ veteran creative leader Brian Horton as the new artistic director for their forthcoming project. As artistic director, Horton oversaw the latest iteration of the franchise, a development that coincided with the introduction of fresh management and revamped cost structures at Insomniac Games.
Prior to his tenure with Horton, he previously held positions at Infinity Ward and Crystal Dynamics, where he contributed to several projects.
An Xbox representative notes that Horton’s extensive experience will be leveraged in the forthcoming revival of the classic undercover operative series, referencing his involvement in the project as its director.
The next-gen upgrade to the iconic Halo series is in development for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with no specific release date or timeframe announced just yet.
