A new trailer for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii was recently released during the current Xbox Associate Preview, ahead of its launch on a revised date of February 21, 2025.
The upcoming action-packed adventure game, marking a departure from tradition with Goro Majima as the sole protagonist for the first time in series history, was unveiled at September’s RGG Summit, mirroring last year’s Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Title. Many of us shared a common opinion that it was quite enjoyable.
In the latest trailer, fans were given a thrilling glimpse of Goro Majima cruising effortlessly across the waves on his customizable ship, its vibrant figurehead, sails, and other components allowing players to personalize its appearance to suit their unique style.
Obtaining your Black Flag in-game achievement becomes more feasible after venturing into the treacherous realm of Madlantis, governed by the formidable Queen Michele, a notorious adversary.
In this swashbuckling extravaganza, you’ll engage in thrilling sea battles against an array of unique captains within the pirate colosseum, all seemingly under the watchful eye of the enigmatic pirate king, Raymond Legislation – a role masterfully portrayed by AEW wrestler Samoa Joe. As an afterthought, it becomes apparent that Taiga Saejima is present in the recreation, his countenance clouded by indignation that Majima has neglected him due to the affliction of amnesia.
The trailer for Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, if overlooked earlier, showcases the game’s utilization of various locations and assets from Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, set in Hawaii where Majima mysteriously washes up, having forgotten his identity, and meets Noah Wealthy, a boy with new additions.
Following the events of Infinite Wealth, the game explores the consequences of Ichiban Kasuga’s decisive action in halting the Palekana cult’s nefarious plans. In this new chapter, players will venture into the expansive Hawaii map, including the mysterious territories of Madlantis and Wealthy Island – the latter serving as the starting point for an unforgettable adventure.
Searching for a speedier Like a Dragon fix? RGG has also introduced a Nintendo Switch port of Yakuza Kiwami, alongside the upcoming Prime Video Like a Dragon: Yakuza series arriving on October 24.
