Kadokawa has published a nostalgic artbook showcasing the visuals and storyboards from its discontinued mobile game. The e-book’s title is “Official Document Collection – The Story of Prayer and the ‘Cage'”, available physically and digitally in Japan for ¥4,950 (approximately $32.65).
The B5-sized eBook contains a total of 528 pages. The artbook includes scripts for numerous stories, ranging from the main narrative to individual tales for each character and weapon, alongside illustrations and character designs. The eBook even includes scripts from select episodes of Square. Enix by no means succeeded in adding precision to the game as intended.
The concluding pages of the eBook include an immersive in-world timeline and exclusive excerpts from the enigmatic Misplaced Archive. These segments comprehensively cover all previously released sequence entries up to and including those launched in 2024.
While accessing books outside of Japan may require some extra effort? While many Japanese online bookstores are limited to domestic shipping, it’s worth noting that BookWalker’s digital edition is uniquely restricted to purchases made within Japan, further complicating international access. The Kindle e-book will also be available for international purchase through Amazon Japan’s platform.
