Netflix’s forthcoming historical anime, Leviathan, boasts impressive credentials with strong creative forces at its helm.
Orange Animation Studio introduces its latest 3DCG endeavour, Leviathan, an anime adaptation of Scott Westerfeld’s 2009 novel, beautifully illustrated by Keith Thompson. What if the Great War had unfolded differently? The German Empire, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria, often referred to as the “Clankers” within the e-book, deploy colossal mechanical war machines, artificial beings engineered for combat, and other advanced technologies to wage war. As the sun set over the ravaged landscape, the remnants of a once-great civilization lay scattered like so much scrap metal. The air reeked of oil and smoke, heavy with the acrid stench of war.
