For some time, we’ve been aware that 343 Industries is developing the next installment in the franchise, with earlier reports suggesting multiple projects are in the works. Now, alongside its formal rebranding as Halo Studios, the developer has corroborated that it indeed possesses a plethora of projects in various stages of development within its pipeline.
Unreal Engine 5 will power all forthcoming titles, following significant advancements on Halo Studios’ ambitious tech demo, which has evolved into multiple full-scale video game projects currently in development.
Pierre Hintze, studio head at Halo Studios, has overseen a strategic recalibration within the organization, abandoning a singular focus on one project in favor of a multi-title development approach, facilitated by the company’s shift to Unreal Engine 5.
“We strove to deliberately craft scenarios conducive to achieving success in our service offerings,” he noted. “By switching to Unreal, we can capitalise on numerous new experiences and deliver them at the highest possible quality.”
According to COO Elizabeth van Wyck, Halo Studios will place greater focus on soliciting player feedback during the development process, starting with early stages of task creation. “We’re actively seeking out increasingly innovative and diverse ideas from our community of players.” We kicked off this process with Assortment, continued the momentum with, and recognize the necessity to scale up this approach for future endeavors. At day’s end, it’s not just what we think matters, but rather how our players perceive their experience.
As growth progresses, determining the exact nature of new tasks is challenging even at this stage. While rumors swirl about a potential remastered version of the iconic game, it remains unclear whether this is indeed the case or simply speculation.
