As announced, this autumn’s launch will coincide with a fresh storytelling initiative, accompanied by the comeback of three iconic characters: Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot. In its role as a multiverse model, it’s possible that each character is exploring distinct iterations, with recent updates to the game’s official website shedding light on these alternate storylines.
In the latest trailer from WB Games, Cyrax is introduced as a youthful Lin Kuei female warrior within the universe, marking a fresh addition to the character’s backstory. As she serves beneath Sektor, despite earning her mentor’s admiration through her exceptional abilities, her unwavering impartiality seems to be pitting her against her own clan?
Sektor serves as the Grasp Armorer for the Lin Kuei clan within the universe. Born into a legacy of Lin Kuei discipline, Sektor’s upbringing was deeply rooted in the ancient traditions of this revered martial arts school. The mother was a renowned warrior, her father a master craftsman and armorer of distinction,” the official website states. “
Lastly, there’s Noob Saibot, the ethereal duplicate of deceased Bi-Han, once the merciless Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei. He was, however, struck down by a godly Havik from another timeline; his soul was then stolen and utilised to forge the being known as Noob Saibot, who is devoted to fostering chaos and will not rest until all forms of authority are annihilated.
Alongside its initial roster of three characters, the game can also accommodate three additional guest DLC fighters – Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian – each featuring their exact likenesses.
debuts on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
