It was officially announced last year that we would receive story-driven downloadable content (DLC) similar to that of Mortal Kombat, while more recently, director and series co-creator Ed Boon hinted at an impending reveal of the same during San Diego Comic-Con. With positive sufficiency, the growth has now been successfully introduced.
Dubbed “The Story Growth”, it will likely be set after the events of the previous game, introducing a formidable new threat from another timeline in the form of a ruthless Titan named Havik, once again falling to Liu Kang to rally the heroes of his New Era. Several beloved characters will make a comeback, including Noob Saibot, whose enigmatic persona is masked by Bi-Han’s presence, alongside Cyrax and Sektor. The trailer was dull and lacked excitement?
With the launch of a fresh story mode comes the opportunity for a Kombat Pack 2, featuring six additional downloadable content (DLC) fighters, poised to shake up the gameplay experience. Meanwhile, the launch of Mortal Kombat’s Growth mode might also coincide with a complimentary update featuring novel animal-inspired Fatalities, dubbed Animalities. Pre-orders for Mortal Kombat’s latest growth remain open, offering a range of enticing bonuses, including four exclusive character skins: Wedding Scorpion, Sup-Zero, Empress Mileena, and Noob Saibot.
Launches on September 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The title will be available to purchase on all major platforms for $49.99, with an exception being the Nintendo Switch, where it will be priced at $39.99.
