While rumors may have circulated about the cast of Marvel Studios’ Unbelievable 4, a recent official announcement finally reveals the roles that these characters will play.
In February, Marvel finally confirmed a strong cast for its long-anticipated Fantastic Four reboot, ending months of speculation and fan casting for the MCU’s iconic quartet. While speculation swirled about potential cast additions to the Marvel universe, whispers circulated that Julia Garner might be in line to play the iconic fan-favorite character, the Silver Surfer; however, at the time, neither side issued an official confirmation of her involvement. Although Marvel has officially confirmed Jennifer Garner’s involvement and the character, and an official synopsis has been released, we can make educated guesses about the film’s plot.
Set against a vibrant, retro-futuristic backdrop inspired by the 1960s, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces the world to Marvel’s First Family – Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they confront their most daunting challenge yet.
As pressure mounts for the family to solidify their heroic stature within the fabric of their domestic bond, they must collectively defend Earth against the unrelenting threat posed by Galactus, a ravenous house god (Ralph Ineson), and his enigmatic herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). But if Galactus’ sinister plan to consume the entire planet and its inhabitants wasn’t already a grave concern, it suddenly becomes an intensely personal affront.
It’s generally understood that this is how one might summarize a film, yet it’s still beneficial to confirm the details at the very least? Robert Downey Jr., the actor who brought Tony Stark/Iron Man to life on screen, has been quite busy since his Marvel Cinematic Universe days. As revealed, Jonathan Majors will likely be reprising his role as Physician Doom in Avengers 5, solidifying his character’s inclusion within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Should the Unbelievable 4 members make appearances in upcoming Avengers films, it would come as no surprise if he makes a cameo in a post-credits scene.
Production is underway for The Unbelievable 4: First Steps, with a planned release date of July 25, 2025.
