MixRift seeks to revolutionize the gaming landscape by fusing actuality gameplay with innovative storytelling, securing a significant $1.6 million injection to propel their vision forward.
Founded last year by CEO Bobby Voicu, CPO David Pripas, and CTO Andrei Vaduva, MixRift has announced the successful closure of a funding round, led by prominent venture capital firms Outsized Ventures, Underline Ventures, and SOSV. The studio has confirmed that the provided funding will accelerate its development and publishing of in-demand mixed reality titles for both Quest 3 and Apple Vision Pro.
To captivate a broader audience, MixRift aims to deliver its own “Angry Birds” experience, distinct from Rovio Entertainment’s recent virtual reality release, “Indignant Birds VR: Isle Of Pigs,” not affiliated with Decision Video games. The developer claims to excel at swiftly creating prototypes of video games, focusing on identifying effective sports mechanics applicable across specific game franchises.
To date, MixRift has released two MR experiences: Hell Horde on Quest, where players defeat hordes of demonic monsters emerging from portals; and Fractured, a 3D puzzle game available on both Quest and Apple AR Professional. Several additional video games are slated to release later this year, but specific details regarding these titles remain unclear.
