As observed by Katsura Hashino’s team, including director amongst others, the notes in their file emphasized the importance of his next game being a controlling title, which was later proven accurate with its release. The latest Atlus fantasy RPG has garnered widespread critical acclaim, mirroring its impressive commercial success, with more than one million copies sold in its first day alone, making it the publisher’s fastest-selling game to date. Although the film is still fresh in people’s minds, its director appears not to have taken much of a break before moving on to his next project.
According to a recent interview with Japanese gaming publication Famitsu, Shinji Hashino, the renowned game director and producer, has already commenced work on his next project at Atlus. When asked about the timeline for his next project, he revealed, “I’ve actually started working on it.”
Accordingly, Hashino views initiatives not as personal endeavors but rather as part of a larger effort benefiting both Atlus as a whole and its fans.
He claims not to deliberate on personal decisions. I examine Atlas comprehensively, considering what’s most beneficial for our workforce in the current context. I aim for delighted customers, which in turn leads me to expect a corresponding delight from our corporate stakeholders. That’s how I always work.
With a track record of unparalleled success, speculation about Hashino’s next move is inevitable, and people can’t help but eagerly await any updates on what’s next for him and his team.
