Developed by Black Solar Productions, Metamorphosis was first introduced four years ago as a visually striking flatscreen game from the collaborative efforts of Ovid Works and Untold Tales. In the vibrant metropolis of early 20th-century Vienna, you embody Gregor, a traveling salesman who has undergone an inexplicable transformation – now reincarnated as a cockroach. While drawing inspiration from Kafka’s classic 1915 novella The Metamorphosis, the forthcoming virtual reality experience diverges significantly in its storytelling approach. Beneath the surface of your average home, a secret world unfolds. This epic adventure navigates the hidden pathways between partitions and floorboards, where bug philosophers ponder the meaning of life, insect mob bosses wield power, and over 100 intricate insect characters bring this underground realm to vibrant life. The game offers multiple endings that depend on the player’s choices made during the final chapter.
