Meta has discontinued the Quest Scoreboards app, which allowed users to track their progress and view their achievements within the VR headset.
The discontinuation of the app was announced to customers via electronic mail approximately 12 months ago, and has since been implemented. What this electronic email learns
Effective December 20, 2024, Meta Quest Scoreboards will be discontinued and no longer available on Quest. The discontinuation of the Meta Quest Scoreboards app will not impact various scoreboard or achievement options already integrated within your personal profile, as well as other surfaces available on Quest. You’ll still be able to track your scores and achievements through these features.
Despite notifications for unlocked achievements persisting after dismissal, there’s no intuitive method within the headset to access previously earned accolades.
Scores of VR enthusiasts, including Quest home owners and builders, have been left disheartened by the sudden elimination of UploadVR, with many wondering what prompted this unexpected decision.
You can still view your accomplishments on your social profile within the Meta Horizon smartphone app, but they are presented in a chronological format only, providing a limited perspective on your progress. The app wouldn’t display the total number of achievements you’ve earned or those yet to be unlocked for each game, and doesn’t organize them by title either.
We’ve contacted Meta to clarify the intentional removal of the achievement-viewing interface and inquire about the fate of achievements in general. Should we replace this text if we receive a response?
