Despite being labelled as an Overwatch clone by many, NetEase Games’ has a rebuttal: they’ve also got the makings of a Splatoon rival. For a brief period, at the very least, a brand-new limited-time mode called Jeff’s Winter Splash Pageant will be landing in just a week, offering gamers a taste of what it’s like to play Nintendo’s vibrant and family-friendly first-person shooter series.
The Jeff’s Winter Splash Pageant is an integral component of this year’s Winter Celebration festivities, commencing on December 20. In the immersive ‘all-Jeffs’ mode, four-player teams compete to claim a winter-themed map with their respective colors, representing their joyful conquest of Jeff’s “Joyful Splash”. As a refreshing twist on traditional Inkling play, everyone will participate in a lively game featuring Jeff the Land Shark, where he snaps photos of others and showers them with celebratory saliva to mark their turf.
Indeed, the festive atmosphere will feature a plethora of event-themed costumes, along with a warm winter coat and earmuffs perfect for Jeff’s chilly attire. While Groot is expected to don a festive attire resembling a Christmas tree, Magik and Rocket Raccoon appear poised to trade in their usual antics for some snowy fun on the ski slopes. Can Venom actually bring completely iced truffles to a gathering?
Marvel and NetEase Games are gearing up for their ‘Winter Celebration’, promising a “special winter greeting card” featuring items from Jeff, along with “several surprises”, which will be revealed when you log in next week. Get ready to unwrap some digital treats from your favorite land shark, Groot.
Available to download and enjoy at no cost, this exciting game has been released on the PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X platforms.
