Arrowhead Games, developer of Helldivers 2, has announced a blog post set to go live tomorrow, September 5, which will detail “everything you want to know” about the studio’s current status on its 60-day plan.
“In an update posted to the game’s Discord server yesterday, the studio announced its commitment to delivering on its 60-day dedication plan. To achieve this goal, they will be increasing the frequency of their updates for the duration of this period.”
On Thursday of this week, we anticipate releasing a new blog post that outlines our progress to date, summarizes the fixes we’ve implemented, and provides a timeline for future update deliveries. This will furnish all stakeholders with the necessary information and confirm our initial delivery date under the revised plan.
Since then, CEO Shams Jorjani has unexpectedly appeared on the server to engage with users’ queries. The developer typically maintains a veil of secrecy regarding what’s in store for the upcoming update, having already had Chief Communications Officer Johan Pilestedt “dropping hints” about the upcoming balancing patch for Arrowhead’s latest release.
“The key lies in crafting a sense of potency with weapons, while still maintaining an enjoyable level of challenge. Perhaps even more formidable foes?” possibly squishier divers? The collective efforts of the group are brought together for your consideration.” An executive also declined to provide specific information about forthcoming initiatives, including the space station mentioned last month, stating: “Multiple teams are actively working in tandem on diverse projects. Some are slated for…quickly. Others will come along, and others for later, and then there are those who’ll come much, much later.
He informed a participant who floated the idea of adjusting thermite grenades: “How are you feeling in two weeks?” That said, Jorjani later clarified this response by asking another participant if his statement was hinting at thermite adjustments or simply “normal hype” because of him being clueless about the present game state, but liking it in the dev build he played yesterday. The final destination remains to be seen on patch day itself.
Notably, the executive also highlighted progress achieved through collaboration with Reddit users who provided feedback on long-term growth strategies for the game, which was sought a month prior. As he emphasized, prioritization has become overwhelming, with numerous options vying for attention; he hinted at future consultations with Reddit users on another pressing matter. However, the prospect of surrendering his first child for an anime adaptation still seemed absurd.
