Several factors have significantly contributed to SNK’s enduring legacy and success, largely due to its iconic fighting game franchises, including King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and Fatal Fury. As a natural progression, the corporation has launched a fresh inside development studio, KOF Studio, tasked with nurturing and driving forward its existing franchises.
To commemorate its 30th anniversary, SNK has founded KOF Studio, proudly upholding its gaming heritage while spearheading a fresh revolution in the world of video games.
According to SNK’s official website, as translated by Gematsu: “SNK’s KOF Studio has vowed to uphold the esteemed heritage of its beloved fighting game franchises while seamlessly propelling them forward into the future.”
To enhance clarity and coherence, a newly formed team responsible for overseeing the majority of a company’s flagship products is being rebranded from its existing name, which was previously synonymous with growth and expansion.
SNK officially credits KOF Studio as the developer behind The King of Fighters XIV, XV, and the 2019 title, in addition to the forthcoming and unnamed motion RPG. The highly anticipated title is set to release simultaneously for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms on April 21.
