The highly anticipated game is now available, sparking widespread acclaim with its robust performance. Despite being a relatively new release, speculation has already emerged about the possibility of a series of video games developed by MachineGames.
Although it’s premature to discuss specific solutions, Lucasfilm Games seems open to exploring sequel possibilities for their iconic franchise. In an interview with Selection, Lucasfilm’s Vice President and General Manager Douglas Reilly discussed the studio’s priorities, stating that while their primary focus is ensuring the success of existing projects and driving growth, there is also ample opportunity to explore new stories in the future, which he believes could be “super engaging”.
“At present, our primary focus is on releasing this game to a broader audience and devoting attention to the downloadable content while striving to maximize its profitability,” he said. We’re always on the lookout for a good story? The exciting prospect exists that numerous opportunities exist within the narrative gaps between films to craft captivating Indiana Jones stories that would undoubtedly thrill audiences.
While the fate of future titles from MachineGames hinges heavily on the success of their latest release, the encouragingly strong critical reception suggests a promising outlook, leaving fans hopeful that the studio will be given the opportunity to continue creating the type of games they’re passionate about.
MachineGames is currently focused on developing its previously mentioned paid DLC (downloadable content). While details are scarce, the studio clarifies that the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) will be a “narratively driven, distinct skill” seamlessly integrating into the main campaign’s storyline.
