Arrowhead Game Studios, developer of Helldivers 2, today released a blog post updating fans on the current status of its 60-day development roadmap. A significant development in the world of sports is imminent, set to take place on September 17.
When news broke about the Escalation of Freedom update and the subsequent balancing changes and tweaks to flamethrowers, many gamers felt left behind. The modifications didn’t resonate well with the community, who perceived Arrowhead’s actions as detrimental to their enjoyment of the game by nerfing meta weapons.
According to the blog post, the significant update to the game, previously hinted at by Arrowhead’s Chief Commercial Officer Johan Pilestedt, now boasts a definitive launch date: September 17. Mark that day in your calendar.
What’ll it include? Here are vital modifications designed to refine and enhance your proficiency in Helldivers 2:
The following items were listed by the studio as part of their presentation.
- We’re revamping Armor Penetration, Anti-Tank capabilities, and enemy armor and wellness metrics to enhance realism and strategic depth in our game. As a crucial aspect of our ongoing work, we have successfully achieved a preliminary balancing pass across more than 30 weapons and tactics.
- We’re rebalancing a wide range of distinct enemies to make them more satisfying to defeat when tackled effectively, ensuring they remain challenging yet rewarding targets for players to take down. Enemy robots and Hulks could potentially have reduced armour, while limiting the quantity of rockets launched by adversaries such as the Devastator and Gunship to create a more harmonious battle experience. The armour values of robust bug enemies, such as the Charger, Impaler, and Bile Titan, are likely to be reduced in strength.
- While weapons like the Autocannon, Heavy Machine Gun, and Anti-Material Rifle can offer simplicity, providing better loadout versatility. We’re also making progress on refining the flamethrower weapon capabilities.
- “To capitalize on this opportunity, we’re reevaluating participant desires and game objectives for our arsenal of tools and strategies, informed by player feedback and in-game behavior patterns.”
So, there you go.
