And developer Hazelight Studios appears to be hinting at an upcoming announcement for their next game, a novel intellectual property. EA Originals may unveil its next project, a developer’s various titles, in “202?”. A cryptic note features the phrase “Final_final_3_Mdown_13”, reminiscent of final cut notes used by video editors, hinting at an imminent trailer release.
Founder Josef Fares tweeted separately about the game, saying he’s eager to share its title, which is actually “A Way Out” – a name that doesn’t quite live up to his flippant tease.
The duo has previously hinted at their next project. The studio announced in April that it was exploring new, high-quality projects for potential development throughout the year. According to Fares, the subsequent title’s potential is “even higher” than before, with players being “blown away.” One thing is certain: this new intellectual property (IP) will be another cooperative journey, as confirmed by Electronic Arts in a separate tweet.
An announcement in October or November, followed by a reveal at The Sport Awards in December, doesn’t seem entirely implausible – especially considering Fares’s established history with the event. Keep tuned for updates.
Since its launch in March 2021, Within the Meantime has successfully sold out an impressive 20 million copies.
