We’ve added another multiplayer survival sandbox to our repertoire, with only one standing out for its unique mythological Greek twist: Gods and Heroes, a game we covered in May that drops players into the role of four mortals attempting to build themselves into god-like anti-heroes.
As discontent simmers in the depths of the Underworld, a chance for reprieve arises: Charon’s intervention could have spared your mortal life and guided you to an unfamiliar coastline for investigation. As you embark on a perilous quest to ascend to divine heights, it’s crucial to start from scratch, meticulously gather resources, and fortify yourself against the treacherous challenges that lie ahead in this unforgiving archipelago. “Solely, I shall prove myself worthy of the best trials that lie ahead.”
Gamers engage in a dynamic experience, leveraging identical inventories across diverse survival boxes, where they must gather, craft, and build to harness energy while exploring mythical ruins and various biomes. The ultimate goal is to complete the Olympian trials, pilfer divine intel, and breach the threshold into the mystical Forgotten Crossroads to decipher the true purpose behind this odyssey.
The Developer, Traega Leisure, plans to launch its leisure initiative with a two-year run, initially featuring a single main biome, limited craftable and buildable tiers, minimal narrative-driven guideposts, and a selection of minor challenges and puzzles that reward additional recipes upon unlocking.
Gamers can snag early access to the game for $20, a temporary price that will increase as updates roll out; until August 29th, however, it’s on sale for $15 – a “reward” for early adopters willing to take a risk in buying in before the game is fully developed.
