Compared to its predecessors, Spider-Man’s latest installment debuted with an unprecedented early release and adopted a real-time-with-pause combat approach. The outcomes have been combined; for further details, please refer to our previous assessment. However, additional content and improvements are forthcoming in the upcoming update. Regrettably, the product won’t be ready for release this autumn as initially planned.
“The team requires adequate time to thoroughly consider and refine key aspects of the game, as requested by the community. Once this process is complete, we will announce a revised launch date.”
The replacement offers a newly unveiled region, Olima: The Metropolis of Stars, as well as a fresh companion with novel skill trees to discover and unlock. The Hub serves as a central gathering point, housing the initial sequence of companion quests, new regional quests, and core quest content. Spiders may deploy fight enhancements, including refined animations and optimized gameplay, as a first step towards overall improvement.
While currently playable solely through Steam Early Access on PC, the game is also set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PS5 next year.
