A remastered version of 2014’s innovative Goat Simulator has just been unveiled by developer Espresso Stain during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, with a release planned for later this year.
The upcoming remaster will incorporate all expansions released for the PC version of Goat Simulator, including Goat MMO, Goat Z, and the sci-fi themed Waste of Space pack. The Buck to Faculty DLC, originally exclusive to Goat Simulator: Cellular, is now also available for inclusion.
As we mark the tenth anniversary of Goat Simulator’s initial release, Espresso Stain producer Joel Rydholm reflects on the game’s humble beginnings: “Back in 2014, life was simpler – people just wanted to be a Goat.” To commemorate this milestone, we’re remastering the original with enhanced graphics and new features, paving the way for Goat Simulator 2 and 3. This nostalgic trip is an opportunity for fans to relive cherished goat-themed memories.
With the remaster’s inclusion of all DLC content, mutators have been reworked, eliminating the need to restart the game to change your goat model. As Espresso Stain notes, this update brings “new and improved visuals, updated textures, fresh lighting, and a whole new foliage – exactly what nobody asked for.”
